City Lights

Everything glitters

From motion

From life.

Watch the world

Move around us

As we sit in silence

Thinking about time.

The time when

We discussed the page

We were on

In the book

Of our relationship,

And we ageed

On page 314.

Or when we drove

Through the night

Straight ’til morning

And we struggled

To stay awake together

But pulled through

To watch the sunrise.

We’ve seen so many

Sunrises

And sunsets

And city lights.

And here we are

Watching the lights blur

Past us in a flurry

As we sit

Picture perfect

With my head on your shoulder

And your arm around my waist

Pulling me close

Holding me tight

Forever frozen

In this moment.

Getting Help

I want to tell you

How I’m feeling

But don’t want dependence

To weigh you down.

I want you to see

That I’m hurting.

It should be obvious

Without words.

I want to know

Why nobody is around

When I’m hurting the most

But I don’t want an audience

For my tears.

I want to be heard

But can’t help

Soldiering on in silence.

May Day Announcements!

  • Yesterday was the last day for NaPoWriMo. It was so much fun! I successfully completed 30 poems in 30 days and completed all of the prompts (even though not all of them were completed on the exact day). What’s that you say? There was no poem for day 29? *Gasp* Okay, I decided to keep that one for myself. I wrote a poem that I’d like to give to someone special, and I know they frequent my blog to see what I’m up to, so I figured I’d just keep it private for right now. Maybe I’ll post it after I give it to aforementioned special person 😉 ! My personal goal was to do the consecutive 30 days with a poem for each day, but I made it 19 days in a row! Did you participate in NaPoWriMo? How did you enjoy it? Send me a link to your favorite poem that you did and I’ll be sure to check it out if I haven’t already 🙂
  • I created a blog related email address! I’ve been thinking about doing this for a long time and I finally decided to create one. Please feel free to send me comments, suggestions, any stories or poems of yours that you might like opinions on, or even if you just want to chat! I’ll take requests for poetry when possible, or we could even do a collaboration together if that’s something that you’d be interested in doing. Feel free to send me anything you’d like to share. I find it difficult to communicate with you wonderful people through wordpress because my computer takes forever to load my comments, so I don’t respond to nearly as many people as I’d like to. You can reach me at tipprtamara@outlook.com (I’ll put my email address in the sidebar as well 😉 ).
  • Lastly, I’ve mentioned before how much you guys mean to me, but I really would like to say it again! You guys inspire me with your stories and it touches my heart when you leave comments about your personal life and how certain words or phrases brought you back to a different time in your life. I love hearing these types of things and you guys really keep me inspired to keep writing and follow my dreams! You are all very wonderful people and I hope I’ve touched your lives as much as you have touched mine!

Sorry for the wall of text, I tried highlighting the main parts of it. Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sunshine Award!

Image

Many thanks to http://zeromissing.wordpress.com for nominating me for the Sunshine Award! It was a very pleasant surprise and I was honored to read what was written in regards to my blog on Missing Zero blog page! Thank you again, Lorem Ipsum.

Here are the rules:

  • Include the award’s logo in a post or on your Blog.
  • Link to the person who nominated you.
  • Answer 10 questions about yourself.
  • Nominate 10 Bloggers.
  • Link your nominees to the post and comment on their Blogs, letting them know they have been nominated.

Ten questions about me :

Favorite color: Ultimately purple is my favorite color, but I love blue too!
Favorite animal: Moose, giraffes, ducks and dogs.
Favorite number: 22 (previous response from Lorem Ipsum, but no way, me too!)
Favorite non-alcoholic drink: Tea. Iced, hot, fruity, strong, black, green, tea. Any way possible. Tea.
Favorite alcoholic drink: Frozen Raspberry Margarita.
Favorite types of music: Any type of rock with a guilty pleasure for pop music.
My passion(s): Reading, writing, learning, creating.
Prefer getting or giving presents: I prefer giving presents because I feel awkward getting them if I don’t know what it is. Almost like I don’t know how to react appropriately. Giving presents is nice because you get to spend time thinking about the person and what you like. It’s almost like a test of how well you know them.
Favorite cities: Anywhere in California. Or anywhere with a beach.
Favorite TV show: Monk or Rescue Me. I watch way too much TV.

Here are my 10 nominees, in no particular order of preference:

Thank you once again to Lorem Ipsum from Missing Zero who runs an expertly written blog that regularly features other bloggers, showcasing not only their own great work, but the wonderful work of others as well. You should check it out. 😉
