It is you, j’adore
For your humor
And your caring heart.
It is you
And only you
For the man
You have always been
You will become
It is you
And I love you for it.
NaPoWriMo 2013 Poem for the prompt of day 29.
I kept this one to give to my boyfriend on our 2 year anniversary.
I think he liked it 😉
- Yesterday was the last day for NaPoWriMo. It was so much fun! I successfully completed 30 poems in 30 days and completed all of the prompts (even though not all of them were completed on the exact day). What’s that you say? There was no poem for day 29? *Gasp* Okay, I decided to keep that one for myself. I wrote a poem that I’d like to give to someone special, and I know they frequent my blog to see what I’m up to, so I figured I’d just keep it private for right now. Maybe I’ll post it after I give it to aforementioned special person 😉 ! My personal goal was to do the consecutive 30 days with a poem for each day, but I made it 19 days in a row! Did you participate in NaPoWriMo? How did you enjoy it? Send me a link to your favorite poem that you did and I’ll be sure to check it out if I haven’t already 🙂
- I created a blog related email address! I’ve been thinking about doing this for a long time and I finally decided to create one. Please feel free to send me comments, suggestions, any stories or poems of yours that you might like opinions on, or even if you just want to chat! I’ll take requests for poetry when possible, or we could even do a collaboration together if that’s something that you’d be interested in doing. Feel free to send me anything you’d like to share. I find it difficult to communicate with you wonderful people through wordpress because my computer takes forever to load my comments, so I don’t respond to nearly as many people as I’d like to. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org (I’ll put my email address in the sidebar as well 😉 ).
- Lastly, I’ve mentioned before how much you guys mean to me, but I really would like to say it again! You guys inspire me with your stories and it touches my heart when you leave comments about your personal life and how certain words or phrases brought you back to a different time in your life. I love hearing these types of things and you guys really keep me inspired to keep writing and follow my dreams! You are all very wonderful people and I hope I’ve touched your lives as much as you have touched mine!
Sorry for the wall of text, I tried highlighting the main parts of it. Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to hearing from you!
How do you loathe me? I forbid you count the ways!
You loathe me to the shallow and short lengths
Your body engages with abandon, when in sight
Against the beginnings of nonexistence and imperfect cruelty
You loathe me from the rear of never night’s
Subtle rule, by moon and natural light
You loathe me strictly, as women abandon immorality
You loathe me pollutedly, as I unbend after scolding.
You loathe me without the leniency you call to use
On your new joys, and without my experienced denial
You loathe me with a hatred you existed to create
Without your newfound saints. You loathe me with a choke,
Frown, laughter of your demise; and, if the devil declines me
You shall but loathe me worse during our next life.
http://www.napowrimo.net/ antonym poetry prompt from day 30! Inspired by Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s famous poem (and one of my favorites) “How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count The Ways…”; which can be found here http://www3.amherst.edu/~rjyanco94/literature/elizabethbarrettbrowning/poems/sonnetsfromtheportuguese/howdoilovetheeletmecounttheways.html
It drives you
Fueling your energy
With enlightening ideas
As you grow
Until the day
Your high spirits are so large
You can’t fit in your wallet
And you move onward
http://www.napowrimo.net/ prompt for day 28
And never used
That smells of paper
Feels like silk
And tastes like new beginnings
Until you pick up your brush.
Inspiration moves you
Stroke by stroke
As you create a masterpiece
Day by day
Until passion dwindles-
Then you’ll wait
Until it strikes
And you’ll overcome.
The end result
Will be a painting
Of insurmountable beauty
Created by the still life moments
That you captured in your mind
Heart and brush
Forever preserved in paint
For all to see and admire.
http://www.napowrimo.net/ prompt for day 27.
Yearn his glance here-
Under his firm eyes.
Newly unearthed, unclothed,
The first touch
Of my sleeping dreams
So beautiful it made me weep
Vainly, I cried.
He Praised the moon
As I sang with desire.
Joy so pure
Twilight would rejoice
In our shadows.
Keen beyond conceiving
There he stood,
Flesh was blood-
A mile uphill,
And I could only smile.
With a gasp.
Made me move through his anger.
Side by side.
Arms extended humbly
Between foe and friend,
Between the foolish and the wise,
Hold me closer.
Caused my will to climb
naked, bare, hungry
shoulders pulled against the dark.
You’re still a foe.
Let us join blood and flesh.
Giving a heart,
Though dull, you taste bright
Though bitter, you are sweet.
Love his soul!
Love him whole.
http://www.napowrimo.net/ NaPoWriMo prompt for day 26. Erasure poetry inspired by E. E. Cummings’ poem “My Father Moved Through Dooms of Love” which can be found here: http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/15405.
A child’s mind cracked open wide
For learning and growing
Walking all alone, their own stride
With confidence showing.
But soon they will grow much too big
And forget their own self.
They will have to search hard and dig,
Wiping dust off the shelf.
They will look back with a smile
On all the things they learned-
How could they forget? A long while…
My, how the tables turned!
http://www.napowrimo.net/ NaPoWriMo prompt for day 25. Catching up! 😉
Too much love for
All of humanity
Marriage takes precedence
Above other matters
Related, but even with him,
Alone is how she feels.
NaPoWriMo prompt for day 24
Chirping perching sing me song
Birds singing through the dusk and dawn
Show them singing is never wrong
Chirping! Perching! … Sing me a song!
Just keep on singing all day long
‘Til beauty has overcome brawn
Chirping… Perching… Sing me a song
Birds, singing through the dusk… and dawn.
